Meet our Lead Pastor!
Eun Kwang (EK) Ko
Pastor Eun Kwang Ko (“EK”) is a Las Vegas native and a homegrown product of the church. He completed his undergraduate studies at Wheaton College (IL) in 2009 with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Christian Education. In 2014, he graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL with a Master of Divinity. After spending five years in the Chicago area, he moved back to Las Vegas in the summer of 2015 to serve as the new youth pastor.
Pastor EK is happily married to his wife, Miwah Ko, who is a speech therapist. While he enjoys basketball, food, and board games, his passion is to raise up the next generation of Christ’s disciples and to sow into the Korean American church context. Pastor EK and Miwah have two children, a son and daughter.
Our Story
In 2009, our senior pastor, Joshua Kang, and a group of young pastors (P. Dave, P. Grace, P. Esther, P. EK) and deacons (Deacon Hyon, Deacon John, Deacon Ernie) began planning and praying into the launch of a new English Ministry. FG West was officially launched on Sunday, November 29, 2009. FG West stands for Full Gospel West. We are the English Ministry of Full Gospel Las Vegas Church and we meet on the west side of Las Vegas. The heart behind FG West’s launch was to reach English-speaking, second generation Korean American adults, especially those who stopped attending church.
When we first launched, we began meeting in a dance studio. From there, we relocated several times: to a different dance studio, back to the small sanctuary on the east side, and then to our present location, a tutoring center. Our experience has felt a lot like Israel’s journey through the wilderness--moving from place to place, setting up and tearing down the tabernacle along the way. But just as the Lord faithfully led and provided for Israel through the wilderness (Deut. 8:2-4), he has faithfully led and provided for FG West through all the different changes and transitions. Over the years, the number of people who attend FG West has steadily grown and the Lord has blessed us with leaders, deacons, and pastors who are here to serve and lead the community. Only the Lord knows exactly what the future holds for FG West, but we believe that the best is yet to come.
