OUR STORY

FG West was established in 2010 as the English Ministry of Full Gospel (FG) of Las Vegas Korean Church. Located on the westside of Las Vegas, FG West is a church community geared towards second-third generation Korean Americans. Prior to 2010, the EM was broken and without direction.

After a few years of wilderness, FG West was birthed by Full Gospel’s senior pastor and a team of second generation pastors. Originally, the heart behind it was to create a worship space for second generation Korean Americans in Las Vegas and to reach those who had left the church.

Since then, God has been allowing us to do that and much more. Today, our community is comprised of college students, young adults, and families. While we are primarily made up of Korean Americans, we strive to be a community that welcomes all with the love of Christ.

On behalf of the FG West family,

Pastor John Hong

CORE VALUES

1. TRUE WORSHIP is a LIFESTYLE that is an open door for the LORD to move.

We know that in John 4:23-24 that the Lord is seeking for true believers to worship in Spirit and in Truth. As a church we will strive together to worship the Lord our God in Spirit and in Truth; and in light of Romans 12:1-2 we know that it is a lifestyle and not just a weekly routine to Worship God, it’s giving everything. Worship doesn’t only mean musical, it can be shown in giving, serving, furthering the Kingdom, and all in all doing for the Glory of Christ (Psalm 34:1).

Psalm 22:3, Hebrews 13:15

When true worship occurs we see that the Holy Spirit uses it in ways to completely transform the atmosphere. “The atmosphere of praise we create is the climate for God to move.” Worship comes when there is a verbal agreements in our hearts and minds of when we believe who God is and when we believe who God says we are. Worship is God’s dwelling place in the lives of believers everyday.

FG West will be a beacon of praising God and usurping His presence to the community that is Las Vegas.

“As we begin to face up to the holiness of God, our lives resound with that very same anthem, here and now upon the earth.”

-Matt Redman

The Unquenchable Worshipper

2. We have the OPPORTUNITY to study GOD’S very WORDS.

We believe that in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that all of Scripture is Word of God are the very Words of God and they are alive and prevalent for us today. As it says in Hebrews 4:12 the Word of God is alive and active and while being historically, culturally, and socially prevalent for us today by the Holy Spirit. In the context of Hebrews we believe that the Word of God will help us be firm in truth and His promises. We have the opportunity to see and await these promises and sow them into everything we do. The Word of God is eternal even though we are just flesh, but what’s done with and in the Word of God will sprout to eternal life. The Word of God will never return void, but as we study and live it, it will return complete.

FG West will be proclaimers of God’s Word to a dead and dying world.

“What’s done in life will pass, but what’s done in Christ will last.”

3. Our MISSION is in the GREAT COMMISSION.

We believe in the commission given by Jesus in Matthew 28:16- 20.Before His ascension Jesus commanded His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We are called as Saints to build the Kingdom here as we seek Christ and are utilized by the Holy Spirit. It is our mission and our prayer as Jesus taught to pray for God’s will to be done here on Earth as it is in Heaven. We have a call to free people from the bondage of poverty. We have a call to release those who are in bondage to sin. We have a call to pray healing to those who are sick and in prison. Most importantly, we may be called to go out to a different country, but even right outside our doors we are called to live the Great Commission in our communities.

Although we believe that we cannot change the world by our own efforts we believe that if we are faithful to sow the Word of God that Christ will build His BrideGalatians 5:6, 2 Cor 2:4, 1 Cor 3:6-7, Matt 6:18, Psalm 127:1.)

FG West will be a base of operations to seek and save the lost.

“I used to ask God to help me. Then I asked if I might help Him. I ended up by asking Him to do His work through me.”

4. PRAYERS are both POWERFUL and NORMATIVE.

     Paul continually exhorts the believers to pray (Colossians 4:2, 1Thessalonians 5:7). We know that prayer not only affects how we as believers connect to God, but it also affects how we ought to connect to one another. As James 5:16 speaks of how we as believers ought to pray for one another. Along with studying the Word of God, as we proclaim in prayer God’s very promises and truth we proclaim His promises over the circumstances that surround us. We proclaim our Lord as healer of those who are sick. We proclaim our Lord as Savior to those who are lost. We proclaim our Lord as King to those who are in bondage. We proclaim in prayer His return. We speak the Kingdom and build it here as we pray in Spirit with the Word;

FG West will be a house of prayer for all nations.

“To pray is to enter the treasure-house of God and to gather riches out of an inexhaustible storehouse.”

-C.H. Spurgeon

5. Lavish LOVE to ALL who come into our doors.

We know that the second greatest command is to love our neighbor as we would our own bodies. In reality this isn’t feasible unless we understand that God Himself loved by giving Himself up for us. Jesus clarifies in Luke who our neighbor is. Through the parable of the Good Samaritan we see that Jesus went the extra mile for us and only when we believe in this truth can we become lovers of others. We have a cross shaped Gospel that in our vertical revelation of God’s love opens for us the horizontal fellowship to those around us. The cross beckons us to love the outcasted, the oppressed, the neglected, the downcast, the widows and the orphans. We as believers can love the darkest, most broken, treacherous like the Zaccheus’ and the prodigal sons because Jesus pursued us first and foremost. Even while we were yet still sinners Christ died for us. So for everyone who walks into FG West will have the opportunity to see the love of Jesus and get up and sin no more.

FG West will be a refuge and oasis to those who are thirsty and lost.

FG West will be a refuge for those in need of healing and love.

“He said “Love…as I have loved you.” We cannot love too much.”
